  •  QTL Experiment in Brief
Animals:The G0 consisted of 2 broiler dam lines origination from the White Plymouth Rock breed. The design was based on a 3-generation full-sib-half-sib design consisting of parents G1, full-sib offspring G2, and half-sib grandoffspring G3.
     Breeds associated:
    n/a
Design:The 3 groups of G3 birds were weighed at slaughter when they were 7 wk of age, 9 wk of age, and 10 wk of age. After slaughter the weight of the abdominal fat pad was measured and adjusted for BW.
Analysis:The analysis is an across-family weighted full-sib regression analysis. Because marker-QTL linkage phase can differ between families, QTL analysis was nested within families.
