Animals:Birds were commercial chickens from the Hy-Line W-36 White Leghorn layer variety. Samples were obtained following two different HPAI outbreaks in multiple commercial layer facilities in two countries (US and and Mexico).
     Breeds associated:
Design:Birds were genotyped using the Affymetrix Axiom 600K chicken SNP chip and analyzed for SNP association with highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) infection survival. A total of 348,161 (Mexico) or 340,791 (US) SNPs were used for analysis.
Analysis:Logistic regression, mixed models, and a Bayesian variable selection GWAS approach were used.
    Software:PLINK, GenSel, ASReml, Beagle, Haploview
