QTL Experiment in Brief |
Animals: | Eleven half-sib families including 1421 Spanish Churra ewes distributed among 17 flocks. Average number of daughters per ram was 129 (range 60-261). |
Breeds associated:
n/a
|
Design: | Animals were analysed for 181 microsatellite markers across the autosomal genome. Test-day average SCS for the whole population was 5.36. |
Analysis: | Multimarker regression method. Chromosome-wise significance thresholds were set empirically by permuting (10,000) the phenotypic data. Variables considered were yield deviations, test date, stage of lactation, lambing age and lambing type. |
Software: | Linkage maps established with CRI-MAP. |
