QTL Experiment in Brief |
Animals: | Purebred pigs of the three genetically diverse founder groups Meishan (M), Pietrain (P) and European Wild Boar (W) were mated to get the highest degree of heterozygosity. All were housed under the same conditions, except for the wild boar. |
Breeds associated:

Design: | Forty-six traits for growth, fattening, fat deposition, muscling, meat quality, stress resistance and body conformation were considered. One hundred eighty-five different marker loci were genotyped, including 129 microsatellite and 56 type I loci. |
Analysis: | Critical threshold values of the test statistic were derived by a permutation test. Genome-wide thresholds were calculated from the combined data applying a Bonferroni correction. |
Software: | Crimap, version 2.4 |
Notes: | Crimap used for: number of informative meioses and for the analysis of marker linkage. |
