    Animals:A total of 447 (Large White x Landrace) x Leicoma sows that had four litters at minimum represented the basic population.
     Breeds associated:
    Design:Litter size was analyzed along with the properdin gene.
    Analysis:The chi-square test with the extension of the Fisher�s exact test was used. The latter one was performed in order to determine the exact p-values for the frequencies of the genotyped sows.
