We are advertising a full-time (40 hours per week) Senior Scientist
(PostDoc, permanent contract) in the field of clinical veterinary
pathology at the Vetmeduni Vienna (University of Veterinary Medicine
Vienna, Austria).

Vetmeduni Vienna is looking for a new diagnostic veterinary Senior
Scientist (Established Researcher, R3) to undertake the clinical
diagnostics work and teaching in the field of veterinary laboratory
medicine (clinical pathology).
The Laboratory Diagnostics Platform is affiliated with the unit of
Veterinary Metabolomics and offers a wide range of modern clinical
chemistry, hematology, and cytology tests for the diagnosis of patients
at the Vetmeduni Animal Hospital and external veterinary practices and
clinics. The Clinical Pathology Department is certified according to EN
ISO 9001:2015.
The advertised position involves routine diagnostic, teaching and
research services and further development of ISO-certified clinical
pathology services (laboratory medicine) at Vetmeduni. Working in close
collaboration with the clinical and preclinical facilities at Vetmeduni
as well as national and international institutions, the successful
candidate will be expected to develop and refine clinical-pathology
methods, including validation in clinical studies. In addition, the
candidate will contribute to the teaching and examination at the
Vetmeduni. This may include establishing a European (ECVCP) or American
College of Clinical Pathology (ACVCP) approved residency program.
Specific Requirements:
* Completed degree in veterinary medicine and advanced doctorate/PhD
in a relevant field.
* Relevant publications (taking into account career level).
* Several years of experience of working as a veterinary clinical
pathologist in the routine diagnostics area.
* Good English skills (B2)
Also wished for:
* Ideally Diplomate status or completed residency training with
eligibility to take the examination for Diplomate of the European
College of Veterinary Clinical Pathologists OR American College of
Veterinary Pathologists (Clinical Pathology).
* Experience in leading and managing a clinical diagnostic department.
* Experience in digital cytology.
* Experience in supervising postgraduate students.
* Proof of university teaching experience, ideally including course
design.
* Excellent communication skills.
