Subject: PhD Opportunity:: Artificial Intelligence for the
diagnosis of eye diseases in cattle

We are looking for a PhD student to work on a new project to apply
artificial intelligence (AI) for the diagnosis of eye diseases in cattle.
The project will involve developing scoring and annotation system,
analysing imaging data using machine learning approaches and evaluating
users engagement. The AI model will be incorporated into a mobile app to
diagnose eye diseases, provide an objective score and keep track of the
disease progression or recovery over time.
A PhD Scholarship (AUD 35,000/year, tax-exempted) is available for 3 years
within this project.
The applicant should have a bachelor or master’s degree in quantitative
disciplines (e.g., veterinary epidemiology, statistical genetics, computer
science or bioinformatics) along with a strong background or interest in
learning image processing, data science and machine learning. This position
will also require animal handling and working in the field. The candidate
should have a driving license and should be willing to travel. The
successful candidate will be based at Camden within a large
multidisciplinary and supportive team.
