Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have teaching experience and
research/postdoctoral background in genetics. They will be expected to teach
introductory genetics lecture, and laboratories and develop upper division
and/or graduate courses tailored to the candidate’s specific area of
expertise. The standard teaching load is 12 semester hours per semester. In
addition, providing student advisement; participating in scholarly research;
serving on departmental, school, and university committees is required.

Required Qualifications

Teaching experience is required. Both a commitment to undergraduate teaching
and developing a research program involving undergraduate and M.S. graduate
students in research is required. The successful applicant will have the
potential to or demonstrated ability to establish an externally funded
research program in their area of expertise that will include undergraduate
and M.S. graduate students. Applicants with a Ph.D. in genetics or related
fields are encouraged to apply. Employment is contingent on having an earned
doctorate by the start of employment.
