Model functions
ma1() function
ma1(f)
creates a
first-differenced (by rows) design matrix
based on the ordered levels of factor f
which, when defining a random effect, is equivalent to fitting a moving average
variance structure in one dimension.
ma1
forms the first-difference operation across all data points (assuming
they are in time/space order). Otherwise the coding is based on the
codes in the field indicated.
